Recommender ("we", "our", or "us") is a Shopify app that helps merchants display manual product recommendations on their online store. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our app.

1. Information We Collect

When you install Recommender, we collect and store the following information:

• Shop information: Your Shopify store domain and access token (required for API access)
• Product data: Product IDs and variant IDs that you configure as recommendations
• Widget settings: Your widget style preferences (colors, fonts, layout)

We do not collect any personal information about your customers. No customer names, emails, addresses, or purchase history are stored by Recommender.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect solely to:

• Display your configured product recommendations on your storefront
• Save your widget style settings
• Maintain your app session and authentication

3. Data Storage

Your data is stored securely in a PostgreSQL database hosted on Railway (railway.app). Data is encrypted in transit using TLS and at rest.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any third parties. Your data is only used to provide the Recommender service.

5. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as you have Recommender installed on your store. When you uninstall the app, all your data (recommendations, settings, and session information) is automatically deleted within 48 hours.

6. Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have the right to:

• Access the data we hold about your store
• Request correction or deletion of your data
• Request a copy of your data in a portable format

7. Shopify

Recommender is built on the Shopify platform. By using our app, you also agree to Shopify's Privacy Policy.
